Spring has Sprung...Sort of

We've had a pretty good year so far.  Nothing terribly exciting, but we've still had a lot of fun.

We went to Clark Planetarium in February.  Alec loved it!  He liked seeing all the things on planets and stars.  Moira just hung out on Mom.=)

We've also been potty-training.  Oh the joys!  Jared made Alec a dinosaur potty chart that he thought was pretty awesome.  We've had ups and downs with the process but we're getting there...I think.

Moira is growing and growing.  I can't believe how quickly the time has gone with her.  She's almost 8 months old!

She started sitting up when she was 4 1/2 months old.

The first time she got to sit on the grass.  We have another kid who loves to be outside.

The walk was a little too much.=)

Alec is so excited to have time to be outside.

Showing off his bean sprout from Sunbeams.

He's boy through and through.  He thinks Potato Bugs are pretty neat.

He got a bike and helmet for Easter. We're still
working on the finer techniques of bike riding.
I had an AWESOME birthday! Jared spoiled me like crazy. His family watched the kids so
that we had a night alone. It was so much fun!

Enjoying our day out.

Mother's Day was excellent too.  I was spoiled again by my sweet husband and kids.

Holding the flowers from my cute family.

Life has been really good.  We're looking forward to more good times!

Christmas Catch-Up

We had a great Christmas.  It was the first Christmas we stayed in our own home for Christmas Eve.  Alec is getting to the age that he gets the whole Santa thing.  He wrote Santa a letter and everything.=)

This is the gingerbread train Alec and Daddy made on Christmas Eve.

                   Christmas Morning excitement.

Playing with his cool Alphabet Train Puzzle.

               The awesome horsey slippers.

Moira didn't really know what was going on but she had a great time anyway.=)

               Christmas Morning loveliness.

We're looking forward to the New Year and the fun things it will definitely bring.!

The Time Has Come...

Since Moira is 2 months old now, I figure I should probably update my blog.=)  Our little girl came to us on September 28, 2009.  I hadn't been progressing that much throughout the month so my doctor scheduled me for a C-section on Sept. 29, which was my due date.  Luckily, my body decided to get going and I went into labor on Sunday night (the 27th).  We left Price around 1 o'clock Monday morning and got the the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray (where I was delivering) around 3 o'clock.  Alec thought the whole thing was a great adventure-getting to go on a car ride in the middle of the night and hang out at a hospital for a little while.  Jared's mom and sister Hillary came and got Alec and took him to their house.  I was a little emotional as I told Alec good-bye.  I knew the next time I saw him we'd have a new baby and he wouldn't be my only little one anymore.  Things progressed quite well and at 12:22 p.m. Moira Lyn was born.  She was 7 lbs. 3 oz and 21 in. long.  The moment I saw her, tears came to my eyes.  I was so happy she was here and all was well.  The whole experience was amazing.  I am so grateful for Jared.  He was so supportive and loving through the whole thing.  He didn't even mind when I would hold his hand so tight it turned purple.=)  He's such a great man.  And while the experience was different in a lot of ways from when I had Alec, the intense feelings of love and wonder were the same.  Bringing these spirits to our home has been some of the greatest moments of my life.

Getting ready.=)

Her first few minutes.

All wrapped up and warm

First family photo.

Alec was a little hesitant to look at Moira at first but he warmed up pretty quickly.  He loves his 'baby sister'.  You ask him her name and he says 'Mora'.  He has to make sure that we don't leave her behind when we get in the car to go places.  He always asks "Baby sister come too?"  It's been crazy but fun getting used to two kids.  I'm getting better at balancing some things.=)

We had a fun Halloween.  We went to Jared's parents' house and had a great time.

One little skeleton.

Another little skeleton.

Skeletons together.

Jared celebrated his 31st birthday on Nov. 2.  We had a party for him at his parents' house.
Opening his cook book he's been wanting.

Jared's Perry the Platypus cake.=)

We blessed Moira on Nov. 8th.  Our nephew Brennan was being baptized on the 7th so we thought that we should have the occasions on the same weekend for family convenience.  It was a great day.  It's awesome for me to see Jared performing these ordinances for our children.
Our Family

Cute Kids

Alec celebrated his 3rd birthday on Nov. 20.  I can't believe that he's 3.  It doesn't seem that long ago that he was just a little baby.  He got a lot of dinosaur things which he absolutely loved.
His fun sign Dad and Mom made for him.  Dad did the drawing.  Obviously.=)

His fun dinosaur stamps from Aunt Hillary.

Showing Dad his Triceratops that makes noise from Aunt Kim and Uncle Andre.

His awesome cake that Dad made.

Whew.  That was a chore.=)  It's been an awesome few months.  We are looking forward to the coming Christmas Season.  We've been so blessed this year.
